Driving is a routine task and as such, it makes even the most experienced drivers assume unnecessary risks causing accidents which put in danger people´s lives. In order to reduce the occurrence of accidents or completely avoid them, TARGET SA provides a variety of training courses designed to meet our clients´ needs. The skills acquired can then be applied in daily situations while on or off duty.

Initial Defensive Driving

Through the interaction during the theoretical and practical sections of the course, instructors are able to identify the behaviors, habits and attitudes of drivers to recognize their potential in relation to safe driving. The focus will be on the weak points of each participant to reduce the possibility of having accidents.

As part of the course dynamics, there is constant interaction between the instructor and the participants. All the topics are developed focusing on the practical aspect by means of group activities and real demonstrations.


  • Liability in case of an accident.
  • Safe following distance, safe overtaking.
  • Driver limitations when facing contingencies. Reaction time.
  • Night driving techniques. Strategies to avoid accidents.
  • Vehicle behavior in complicated maneuvers.
  • Overturns. How they are produced and corrective maneuvers to prevent them.
  • People and vehicle dynamics in the event of frontal crashing.
  • Driving behavior in curves.
  • People behavior in the car in the event of sudden maneuvers or frontal crashes.


  • Ergonomics in the driver´s seat: correct use of mirrors, seat position, backrest position, headrest, wheel position and driving position.
  • Slalom test: Practice on arms technique, control on turning radius and evaluation of the size of the vehicle.
  • Evasive maneuver and stop test: incorporation of evasive maneuver techniques keeping the vehicle under control at all times.
  • Curves and reverse curves: Understanding of the vehicle behavior in relation to the transfer of dynamic loads and in the event of stopping in curves, application of the controlled stopping technique at the right time.
